London Fashion Week, SS 2011

We headed over to Somerset House to check out Lingerie Boudoir and mooch about the stands for some SS 2011 inspiration.

You can imagine my excitement when I came across Jean Paul Gaultier's new collaboration with La Perla. Hitting the shops in November, the collection consists of opulent, hand-embellished silk cinchers, corsets and conical bras, reminiscent of the haute couture lingerie he created for Madonna's Confessions tour in 1990. Regretfully, a little too expensive to be stocked at If You Please (a bra starts at around £405 and corsets £811) but you can find it at Harrods if you feel like treating yourself!

We managed to have a good old natter with the ladies from Damaris and pick out some of their fab new Mimi Holliday ranges for Spring. Think cute, retro polka dots and indulgent laces. There's a bridal range in their too for those who are planning to get hitched next year ; )

We also checked out a few potential new brands for IYP and found ourselves some fab swimwear for next season. I can't give too much away but, true to our trademark style, we're going with retro shapes and bold prints. Think Beyonce in her Why don't you love me video.

Trend-wise, the overall look was all things 60's with a bit of Brit-pop thrown in. Big pants are in ladies! Retro ladieswear silhouettes will be seen in the form of pencil skirts, pea coats and high neck shifts, alongside Jackie O style accessories. We love the new eyewear range by Orla Kiely!

And finally, we came across this little gem. Dalston based milliner Piers Atkinson brings us truly beautiful and artistic creations in the form of huge floral hats, bands, masks and fascinators. Ever wondered where Paloma Faith gets her head wear from? You guessed it. If you hadn't already heard of him, check him out, he's definitely one to watch!
